You should register!!!

GO HERE to Sign up for free (thanks Shan!)

A good long while ago, near the finale of Act I, Kevin and I registered to be bone marrow donor. The idea of actually donating bone marrow sounded painful but we just registered our information so that in case we are a perfect match for someone we can actually help them. The registration is not painful at all (if I recall you have to like swab some spongey things and put into separate containers?)... anyway..at the time we did it as a part of a Leukemia thing for a Geneseo student that was in need of bone marrow.

I know if my bone marrow is ever needed as much as my fears of pain would be present, the knowledge that I am helping and perhaps saving another human's life would allow me to push through my own personal torment to hopefully help someone through theirs. So I registered.

and I hope you will also!

Great Post D! When I worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, I worked for the Pediatric Leukemia service and for the Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant service. Bone marrow can be the gift of life for some of these little patients (and adult patients as well). That's a wonderful thing that you did!

okay- you guilted me into it. If it were Molly I'd hope that a match would be found, and that someone would be willing to help save her. I'm totally going to register right now. Great post D.

Nikki I have no idea honestly how you do it from a distance, maybe they send you an envelope and instructions. When I went it was at like a local church and we filled out forms and they had a whole assembly line of craziness. I'd check the website!

D-

You may want to pass this link on to anyone that can't afford to pay to be part of the registry. The link you have above costs $50 dollars. The link below will send you a collection kit free of charge.

Just Watch video, sign up for kit. So simple. 6 year old Jasmina Amena needs a bone marrow trnsplant http://www.oneforjasmina.com/
