So for a solid week I woke up before work, went to the gym, did a 30 min cross training cardio workout and showered and headed to work. It was amazing and invigorating and I felt like I could take on the world. I ate much better during the day and in my old WW brain had enough points to satisfy but not stuff!.
This week has been less successful. Each morning as I am alerted by my alarm I reset it to sleep for an additional 45 minutes and deny the workout invogorating experience. I have woken with a few migraine headaches which I think may be associated with dental work I had done last friday, and more than likely life stresses accompany the cause.
Surprisingly, I'm not defeated and I plan on trying again next week to return to the morning workout. Because I really cherish my post-work free time with friends, family, phones and tv the pre-work workout is really the only stable workout that I forsee lasting for more than a week. I just sometimes wish there were more hours in the morning post 5;59am...getting up before that is really not happening, and when you forget things or need extra time for wiggle room it would be nice.
baby steps! (right laura!?)

Good for you not letting this defeat you, D. I'm struggling with making the time for exercise myself. Years ago I did it religiously about an hour a night at least three days a week after work at a gym, but I didn't have a wife and baby to go home to. On alternate days I rode my bike or rollerbladed for an hour or more. I know I need to make time for it, again, but it is hard. Mornings definitely don't work for me (so not a morning person), but mornings do work for many. Keep it up! After a month it will become a habit and will feel weird not to do it. ~Michael
Absolutely D!! :) It's all about baby steps. Any step forward is progress :) Small steps lead to achievable goals and they allow you to build momentum. I'm so proud of you for not being defeated and planning to do it next week! That's fantastic!
This week has been a struggle for me, too - my sneakers have been wet (and now I'm working on de-funking them) from the deluge we got caught in on Sunday...and then got a massive muscle cramp in my leg Wednesday night that has still not released completely so exercise for me has been limited at best. But, like you, I know that I can and will do it again :) I think it's wonderful that you're listening to your body and being kind to yourself! Those two things are critical and will help you build and maintain healthy habits :) Great job, D!! :)
Yay D! That's awesome. Michael and I have been talking about needing to excersise more too. It's great that you are excited about it- thats half the battle- at least for me! Love ya!
thats great D that you did the workout everyday that week! congrats!! its great that you have the feeling of what that was like and now when you do the workout again next week, the idea of doing it won't seem like so crazy and foreign, cause you've already done it and know that you can! :) I agree, it is difficult to do the workout and have wiggle room. I usually go during my lunch break and I have absolutely no wiggle room when I go, I usually just get an apple and then end up eating lunch at like 4pm! I think its important though and so so good for you and for headaches to exercise. I was watching the view today and they were talking about how running/exercise is really good for you and mental clarity but that its also really important to eat well also. anyways, great job girlfriend! :) Nik
