Early Bird Eating!!! Holiday Dining.

So for the past few holidays (NYE and Valentines Day), We have delayed making reservations till too late.

So when we go out for a special dinner we are carnivores,,, and love some good steak. Sorry if that grosses you out but we love beef! So on NYE we waited too long and when we went to the restaurant 'just to check it out' they only had reservations available at 4:00, 4:30 and 12:00. Well 12:00 eating on NYE is nuts, that's when you want to be watching the ball drop! " Hey Honey put your fork down and kiss me to ring in the new year! MMMm tastes like Bearnaise!".

So when this first occurred on NYE we loved it. Here are the pro's to eating out on holiday early.

1. All the specials are available..There is no 'we're out of the filet'.
2. The waiters are on their best game... its still early they're working for TIPS!
3. The bartenders are not overwhelmed,, the cooks are not overwhelmed so they make your food/drinks promptly and correctly.
4. Often there is a 'early bird' special menu!!!
5. You get better seats because you're the first to be seated and the restaurants want the place to look exclusive (seriously we got the best seats twice now, those cool booths where your cozied up next to each other).
6. You are not rushed through your courses, so you can eat at your own pace (unless your a larger group then they might push you through cause groups tend to talk more than eat so they take longer).
7. Your ingredients are fresher... the soups and sides were probably only JUST made!
8. You get done earlier.. So for both events we had time to do other things after dinner. For NYE we went to a Martini bar and then to our irish pub... for Valentines Day we visited both sets of parents to bring them a lil Valentines love. We were still home by 7pm to relax, unwind and chill out before the next day!
9. You watch the restaurant fill up around you instead of trying to squeeze yourself into a table around those already eating.
10. BETTER PARKING!
11. Plus I was thinking last nite, if we had kids it would be much easier to get a baby sitter for mid-day then evening when the sitters themselves might want to go out! (see I'm thinking like you mommies even when I'm no where near there!).
12. Get back in our PJS faster!:)

All good points! Although I would still say good luck getting a babysitter on Valentines Day!! But I agree with you, early would be practical for lot's of reasons! Glad you guys had a romantic date! Hugs!
